It’s Spooky Season Y’all!

Pumpkins, Pecans, and Ghouls: Oh my!

We’re finally recovering from our wedding and this month off has been a real treat our business creativity. It’s amazing what you can try out when you have the time. Our friends (or designated taste-testers as we like to call them) requested some ghoulish treats for our annual Halloween gathering and these did not disappoint!

The double chocolate eyeball monster cookies were probably the cutest/creepiest things we’ve made to date and now we have a new passion for making the perfect chewy cookies. Be on the lookout for that addition to our menu as soon as we finish our recipe trials! These special Halloween editions had the candy eyeballs added to the dough. After we baked them, we melted some marshmallows with green food dye and stretched the “webbing” over the cookies to give that spooky feel.

Not only were these macarons adorable, they were also two new flavors that were delicious! So delicious in fact, we decided to add them to our fall seasonal flavor listing meaning you get to enjoy them every year. The first new flavor that came from this was Caramel Apple (green monster macs). The buttercream ring is our salted caramel mixed into our vanilla buttercream. That gooey center is apples cooked with fall spices and brown sugar to give you that perfect caramel apple fall vibe that we all love.

The orange pumpkin macs are filled with our take on Pecan Pie, macaron style. After cooking some pecans down with brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon, we crushed them up and added them into our spiced vanilla buttercream. All the flavors of pecan pie with the convenience of handheld treats.

Macarons were our first baking love, so any chance we get to give new flavors or bake batches for friends and family, we will take it. We’re coming up on the BEST time of the year and we can’t wait to share our Christmas bakes with you guys.

Until next time!

-Kat & Kyle
