Our First Cake Orders!

Cake enthusiasts rejoice!

We finally did it. We finally broke down and entered the custom cake game. It was a tough decision, but ultimately my love for cake decorating has led me to this. That and some awesome folks who were willing to give us a shot at making their celebrations that much more special.

With that daunting task in hand, we headed to our kitchen to attempt our first official cake order. Did I mention that it was a pinata cake of which we had never even began to try before? No? Well, now I have. Seriously, this cake was a blast to make! We were also fortunate that our customer shared an inside look with us meaning we can share that with you guys as well!

The order was a custom blue cake (that fancy jewelry store blue) with vanilla cake dyed pink. They also threw in some strawberry and white chocolate pistachio fillings as well as some custom macaron decorations. Overall, I would super proud of our first cake order. Check below for more photos!

With that dam officially broken, our cake orders are flooding in and we can’t wait to share more with you guys in the future! Our next order had us making a custom cake for a sweet girl’s 4th birthday party. The theme was tropical flamingoes and I have never been so excited to try chocolate work with macarons. Truthfully, it wasn’t that bad and I think they turned out adorably.

Getting to do the frosting work on this cake is what really took all of the attention though! Our first time doing banded colors and I am obsessed with how it turned out! Such an awesome cake on the outside and fantastic pink vanilla with strawberry filling on the inside. This flavor combo is the hit of the summer and we are digging it.
