Welcome to Wedding Season

We’re ready to walk these desserts down the aisle…

Statistically speaking, August through October has more weddings than any other time of the year. It is such a beautiful time of the year, we can understand why couples would want to pick fall. Kyle and I even got married in October last year because this is also our favorite season! It is one of the greatest honors as a baker to have future brides and grooms reach out to you for their sweet treats on their special day and this wedding season did not disappoint. We got to be part of several GORGEOUS wedding sets that were an absolute joy to make.

Our first real love in baking was macarons and macaron towers are a huge trend in weddings over the last few years. They make stunning displays and can be customized to match any wedding theme. We have been part of several macaron tower sets these past few weeks and to say that I am obsessed with how they turned out would be an understatement. Take this set in the photo to the right for example. A bride requested us to match earthy fall tones for her tower and these colors that Kyle got turned out amazing. It just so happens that these were our wedding colors and it had me wishing that we could have done our own desserts for our wedding as well!

Macaron towers aren’t the only new wedding trend we are seeing in our field. Another exciting item is the idea of wedding dessert bars. While these aren’t new by any means, we are seeing their popularity grow with brides and grooms wanting to offer varieties of treats at their wedding as opposed to the traditional wedding cake option. It’s a great idea and the photos you can get from a dessert bar are amazing! Nothing makes me happier than hearing people brag about how amazing our desserts were and it is humbly that we can make something that so many people enjoy.

This set to the left was an extra special one for us. As we mentioned on the social media post about it, this set was for my baby brother’s wedding a few weekends ago. Everything from the cinnamon cake to the purple gradient macaron tower came out exactly like we wanted it to and the relief I felt after lugging this cake over an hour to their venue is something that I can’t put into words (LOL). One of the coolest things about fall weddings is getting to utilize our fall seasonals in the dessert offerings, so this included our fall seasonal macaron flavors as well as our fall cookies!

What we love most about doing event sets like wedding dessert bars for customers is the ability to design an entire menu of our treats for people to enjoy. There is something about curating flavors and designs that gives us this satisfaction when it all comes together. Once the whole set is out for display, the photos of what we have created really bring that feeling home and we can’t thank people enough for trusting our little home bakery with this responsibility.

Another benefit of being a small shop is that we get to add some custom touches to our orders that we hope people love as well. For example, these custom signs that we created for one bride to set out with her macaron tower for her guests to know the flavors. Thankfully, my husband is patient with me and great at photoshop for when I surprise him with these requests last minute! He even goes so far as to make each macaron individually with shell colors and filling designs.

Looking for something for your next major event? We would love to help you out with your own custom dessert bar. Be on the lookout for great holiday things coming soon and check out the photos below to see more of our wedding season orders!

Until next time y’all!
